Kamareddy Turned Corruption-Free: BJP MLA
He said corruption was rampant in the municipality, with irregularities even in basic civic services.

Kamareddy:BJP MLA K. Venkataramana Reddy on Saturday claimed that Kamareddy municipality had become corruption-free over the past two years due to initiatives taken after the BJP came to power.
Addressing a public gathering, Reddy alleged that large-scale corruption had taken place during the tenure of the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi rulers. He said corruption was rampant in the municipality, with irregularities even in basic civic services.
He alleged that bills were raised under the guise of tenders for services such as water supply, which was meant to be provided free of cost. Works that were never executed were shown as completed, and roads were re-laid over existing roads, he claimed.
Reddy said such practices pushed the municipality into a debt trap of ₹70 crore. “After my election, through funds released by the government and taxes collected from the public, we have managed to reduce the debt burden by ₹30 crore. A debt of ₹40 crore still remains,” he said.
He asserted that his efforts were focused solely on ensuring a corruption-free administration in Kamareddy and urged people to assess governance carefully.
