Kamareddy Students Demand RTC Buses Stop at Their Village
The students said they have been facing severe inconvenience as the buses fail to halt, making it difficult for them to reach school on time.
Kamareddy: Students from Lingayyapalli and Kotalapalli villages in Kamareddy district staged a road protest on Monday, alleging that RTC buses operating between Rajampet and Kamareddy were not stopping at their villages during school hours.
The students said they have been facing severe inconvenience as the buses fail to halt, making it difficult for them to reach school on time.
One of the protesting students said nearly 50 students from the two villages depend on the Rajampet–Kamareddy RTC bus to travel to schools and colleges. Despite the academic year having started nearly a month ago, none of the buses have been stopping in our village bus stop, the student alleged.
Another student said they had paid Rs. 450 for an RTC bus pass but were unable to use it as the buses were not halting in their villages.
Lingayyapalli Sarpanch also supported the students' demand, stating that they have been facing hardship due to the issue. The Sarpanch appealed to the depot manager to ensure that the Rajampet–Kamareddy RTC bus stops at the villages at around 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., enabling students to travel to and from their educational institutions.
