Kamareddy: Family members of a pregnant woman staged a protest outside the Government Hospital in Kamareddy on Saturday, alleging medical negligence following the death of her newborn baby.
According to reports, the woman, identified as Swaroopa, was admitted to the hospital at around 9 am on Friday. She later experienced severe labour pains. Her family members allegedly requested doctors to perform a Caesarean section, but the doctors reportedly advised them to wait for a normal delivery.
On Saturday, as her condition reportedly worsened and the labour pains intensified, doctors performed a Caesarean section. However, the baby boy was found dead.
The family members alleged that the baby could have been saved if the Caesarean section been performed earlier. They accused the doctors of negligence and staged a protest outside the hospital.
Police reached the spot and were trying to bring the situation under control. Further details are awaited.
