Nizamabad: Heavy rains lashed Kamareddy district, inundating several areas and disrupting daily life. District in-charge minister Dhanasari Anasuya Seethakka, state government advisor Mohammad Ali Shabbir, and Zaheerabad MP Suresh Shetkar on Thursday visited flood-hit colonies including GR Colony and Housing Board, and interacted with victims who said the rains had severely impacted their lives.

For the first time, Kamareddy town witnessed such heavy downpour, local residents said. Vehicular traffic on National Highway-44 between Hyderabad and Nagpur was disrupted after bridges near Adloor and Kyasampally villages were damaged, restricting vehicle movement. Roads connecting Karimnagar, Hyderabad and Nizamsagar to Kamareddy were also submerged, halting traffic.

Train services were hit as South Central Railway diverted and suspended several trains via Kamareddy. Meanwhile, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is expected to conduct an aerial survey of Medak, Kamareddy and Peddapalli districts, including the Nizamsagar project. The district administration is preparing for a review meeting to be chaired by the CM in Kamareddy town this evening.
