Jupally Urges Congress BLAs to Stay Active in SIR

He urged BLAs to create awareness among voters about the revision process

ADILABAD: Tourism minister and district in-charge minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Saturday asked party booth-level agents (BLAs) to remain active in the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, stating their role is crucial in safeguarding genuine votes and identifying ineligible entries.

Addressing a training programme for BLAs at the Komaram Bheem Asifabad district headquarters, he said the SIR process is important for the functioning of democracy and called on party workers to play an active role.

He urged BLAs to create awareness among voters about the revision process and said Congress leaders should recognise its importance for their political prospects.

District Congress Committee president Atram Suguna said mandal presidents, gram sarpanches and BLAs should engage with the public to ensure that the revision process does not affect the party’s interests.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated gram panchayat buildings at Manikguda and Komatiguda in Asifabad and Wankidi mandals, respectively, and a village organisation building at Dabora in Kerameri mandal.

Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna, MLC Dande Vittal, State Grandhalaya Samstha chairman Riyaz, former MLA Atram Sakku, former MLC Puranam Satish, former DCC president Vishwa Prasad and Assembly constituency in-charge Shyam Naik addressed the programme. Market committee chairman Irukula Manga, Grandhalaya Samstha chairman Anil Kumar, BLA in-charge Ramgopal Verma and others were present.
