Jupally Assures Stern Action Against Those Indulged In Toddy Adulteration

Hyderabad: Prohibition and Excise department Minister Jupally Krishna Rao here on Wednesday said that stern action would be taken against those who were involved in the adulteration of toddy in Kukatpally causing health problems to 19 people.
“The samples were collected from the toddy compound where the adulteration happened for chemical analysis. Based on the report, we will initiate action against the persons responsible for the incident,” the Minister said after calling on the patients at NIMS in Punjagutta.
He said the condition of the affected people were stable and added that necessary steps would be taken to prevent reoccurrence of such incidents in future. The police department has already detained the persons indulged in the adulteration of toddy. The toddy compound was also seized.
Rao said that the timely response to the incident followed by proper treatment averted a major disaster.
Meanwhile, Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha asked doctors to ensure proper treatment to those who faced health problems after consuming spurious toddy. The Minister, who is visiting his constituency in erstwhile Medak district, spoke to doctors concerned and enquired about the health condition of those undergoing treatment.
