Junior Colleges Told To Report Foreign Students
Colleges must file student details with police within 24 hours of admission

Hyderabad: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has directed all junior colleges to furnish details of foreign nationals and OCI cardholders admitted to their institutions, in line with the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
As per the new regulations, colleges must submit Form-II (earlier Form-A) containing credentials and academic performance of such students to the jurisdictional police within 24 hours of admission. The information, including passport and visa or OCI number, surname, nationality, course name and fee structure, will then be forwarded to the relevant authorities.
The move follows Central government instructions to the state to implement the Act, with officials stressing that compliance is mandatory to uphold immigration laws and national security. Colleges have been told to sensitise staff to the new documentation requirements.
TGBIE secretary S. Krishna Aditya warned that lapses or non-compliance would be viewed seriously and attract action under the provisions of the Act.
