HYDERABAD: The final voter turnout for the Jubilee Hills Assembly byelection stood at 48.49 per cent, with 1,94,631 electors exercising their franchise out of a total of 4,01,365 registered voters. The constituency comprises 2,08,561 male, 1,92,779 female and 25 other voters. Of those who cast their vote, 99,771 were male, 94,855 were female, and five were from the ‘others’ category. Counting of votes will begin at 8 am on November 14 at the Shri Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Stadium in Yousufguda.

Officials said elaborate arrangements are being made for the counting day. The process will take place in 10 rounds at 42 counting tables, under tight security. Police will deploy additional personnel in and around the stadium to prevent any untoward incidents. All liquor shops, hotels, restaurants, clubs and other establishments serving alcohol in the constituency will remain closed from 6 am on November 14 to 6 am on November 15 in view of the counting. Police have also prohibited public gatherings, processions and the bursting of firecrackers during this 24-hour period.

The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are currently stored in strong rooms at the stadium, secured by paramilitary forces and CCTV surveillance. After polling concluded on November 11, election materials, including the EVMs, were transported from polling stations to the reception centre at the stadium under the supervision of district electoral officer R.V. Karnan and general observer Ranjit Kumar Singh.

Only authorised officials and election staff have been permitted inside the premises since then. Following polling, Congress candidate Naveen Yadav thanked voters on the social media platform X for their support. AIMIM Shaikpet corporator Mohammed Rashed Farazuddin also thanked the residents of his division.
