JNTUH Students Accuse Academic Director Of Irregularities
The complaint further alleges that Dr Reddy leaked confidential university information to private colleges, compromising transparency and procedural fairness.

Hyderabad:Student organisations from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) levelled serious allegations against Dr Ravindra Reddy, director of affiliations and academic audit (autonomous colleges), accusing him of undermining university norms to benefit private college managements.
In a detailed representation submitted to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, education secretary, technical education commissioner, and JNTUH vice-chancellor, the students claimed that Dr Reddy’s actions during inspections and the affiliation process were in violation of academic guidelines. One case cited involved the alleged appointment of an ineligible person as principal of a private college, reportedly facilitated by bypassing standard norms. A fact-finding committee led by a senior professor flagged the matter.
The complaint further alleges that Dr Reddy leaked confidential university information to private colleges, compromising transparency and procedural fairness. The student unions argue that such practices not only degrade the university’s institutional credibility but also threaten the quality of education for students across Telangana.
“These are not isolated lapses. There is a pattern of manipulation and bias that directly harms students and violates the purpose of academic regulation,” said B Ashok Goud, one of the signatories.
The representation calls for the immediate constitution of an independent inquiry committee to investigate the allegations. The students have also sought strict disciplinary action if wrongdoing is established, and proposed measures to improve transparency in the affiliation and academic audit process going forward.
The complaint was jointly signed by Dr S. Karunakar Reddy, A. Teja, J Dileep, L. Bhanu Prakash Naik, A.C.A. Jagan and several other representatives from JNTUH student bodies.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, JNTUH JAC chairman Dr Botla Bikshapathi said he met Chief Minister’s adviser Vem Narender Reddy and expressed concern that ongoing controversies were damaging the university’s image and urged the state to ensure peace on campus and initiate necessary action against any individuals found responsible, while protecting the university’s reputation.
