Jeedimetla Police Prevents IED Explosion In Businessman’s House, 2 Pseudo Naxalites Nabbed
Thirteen country-made bombs and four mobile phones were seized from the possession of arrested persons

Hyderabad: The Jeedimetla police on Wednesday detected a pseudo Naxalites case by arresting two persons belonging to Gannavaram in Andhra Pradesh.
Thirteen country-made bombs, a threatening letter and four mobile phones were seized from the possession of the arrested persons identified as Yerramsetty Raju (33), and Kandurelli Raju (24) of Gannavaram.
On May 22, the police received a complaint from Kuna Raghavender Goud that a tulasi plant in front of their house in Shapurnagar was damaged and a letter and red-coloured towel were found placed on their car. It was mentioned in the letter that they were naxalites and demanded Rs. 50 lakh and if the money was not paid they would kill him.
The police booked a case and verified more than 500 CCTVs and found two persons came to the house of the complainant and on keen verification it was strongly suspected the two persons were aged between 25 and 30 years.
Based on information, the police nabbed the accused in a forest area near HMT in Jeedimetla. After being grilled, they admitted that they had committed the offence to extort huge amounts from the complainant as his family was into finance and other business.
Police inquiries revealed that the accused temporarily came to Shapurnagar and worked in a private company. As they were facing financial difficulties, the duo conspired to extort money by posing as naxalites.
The accused initially left a threatening letter at the complainant’s residence demanding Rs.50 lakh. Upon receiving no response from the complainant, they went to Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh, where they reportedly assembled an improvised explosive device (IED) with the intention to escalate their threats.
They then returned to Hyderabad and planned to detonate the bomb at the complainant’s residence on May 28 with an intention to create fear but the police nabbed them. Raju was earlier involved in property offences reported in Gannavaram police station limits.
