According to reports, the driver, Lakshman, suddenly suffered a heart attack while the bus was on its way to Jagtial from Maddunoor. He managed to slow down the bus, averting a possible accident. (Screengrab: X)
Jagtial: An RTC bus driver suffered a heart attack while driving a bus from Maddunoor to Jagtial on Saturday.
According to reports, the driver, Lakshman, suddenly suffered a heart attack while the bus was on its way to Jagtial from Maddunoor. He managed to slow down the bus, averting a possible accident.
Passengers noticed that the driver was suffering from a medical emergency and immediately called 108 for an ambulance. However, they reportedly expressed concern over the ambulance not arriving on time. Lakshman was subsequently taken to a hospital in an auto-rickshaw for treatment. The condition of Lakshman is said to be stable.
According to reports, Lakshman is scheduled to retire on Monday.
