Jagityal: With Ganesh idol immersions underway across Jagtial district, the Jagtial Police Department has made elaborate security arrangements. In a notable initiative this year, Jagtial Police have involved 17 transgender persons in security and bandobast duties during the Ganesh idol immersion celebrations.
The transgender personnel are working alongside police, assisting with crowd management, regulating traffic and helping maintain law and order as large numbers of devotees arrive at immersion points across the district,
Police officials said the transgender personnel had rendered commendable service during bandobast duties last year as well, discharging their responsibilities with dedication and discipline. Their efforts, officials noted, helped prevent disputes and untoward incidents and earned them appreciation.
The transgender personnel expressed gratitude to Jagtial District Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar for placing his trust in them and giving them the opportunity to take part in the security arrangements. They said the respect and responsibility entrusted to them by the police department had boosted their confidence and encouraged them to serve society with greater commitment.
The initiative highlights the participation of transgender persons in public service and their contribution to maintaining peace and security during major public celebrations.
