Thousands of devotees participated in the yatra
Nizamabad: The Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsavam, organised by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon), was held in Nizamabad city on Friday with religious fervour.
Devotees offered special prayers to Lord Jagannath before ceremonially flagging off the Rath Yatra from the Neelakanteshwar Temple.
The procession passed through NTR crossroad, the bus stand, railway station, Nehru Park, Shivajinagar, Phulong and Yellammagutta crossroad before concluding at Srirama Garden on Armoor Road.
Thousands of devotees participated in the yatra, chanting devotional hymns and the names of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra.
Devotional songs, kirtans and traditional spiritual performances marked the procession. Iskcon volunteers distributed tirtha and prasadam to devotees at various points along the route.
