Jadcherla MLA Threatens Hunger Strike Over Delay In Constituency Funds

Congress MLA J. Anirudh Reddy threatened an indefinite hunger strike with 30,000 people over pending development funds and bills in Jadcherla.

Jadcherla Congress MLA J. Anirudh Reddy has threatened to launch an indefinite hunger strike, over alleged delay in releasing of development funds and pending bills for his constituency.

While touring his constituency, the MLA expressed severe dissatisfaction over lack of funds for development. Anirudh Reddy questioned whether funds and bills are being cleared exclusively for constituencies belonging to ministers. He directly demanded to know what the fate of other MLAs is. Pointing out that a contractor recently received a `5 crore bill upon his death, an enraged Anirudh Reddy questioned, “Does that mean funds will only be sanctioned for my constituency works if I die?”

While speaking to media in his constituency, Anirudh Reddy asserted that the government can only survive if all constituencies in the state develop parallelly. He made it clear that he will fight beyond party lines to secure irrigation water for the Jadcherla constituency. He emphasised that he will not back down from any struggle in the interest of farmers. He demanded that the government immediately release bills for development works that are either completed or ongoing in his constituency.

Earlier, he toured various villages, including Rangareddyguda and Gundlapotlapalli, under the Rajapur mandal limits. He stated that he is ready to go on an indefinite hunger strike along with 30,000 people to demand the development of his constituency and the release of pending bills for completed works.
