Israel Phone Call Cracks Nizamabad Murder Case; 6 Arrested

Frequent quarrels between the couple over the relationship led Soumya and her lover to conspire to eliminate Ramesh: Police

NIZAMABAD: A murder case in Nizamabad district was cracked following a phone call from Israel, leading to the arrest of six persons, including a woman, by Makloor police on Sunday.

The deceased, Pallati Ramesh, 35, of Borgam (K) village in Makloor mandal, died on December 20, 2025. His wife initially claimed that he had suffered a heart attack and performed the last rites soon after. However, Ramesh’s younger brother, Pallati Kethari, who works as a migrant labourer in Israel, grew suspicious over the sudden death and alerted the Makloor police over the phone.

Based on his complaint, police registered a case of suspicious death under Crime No. 283/2025, Section 194 of the BNSS, and launched a detailed investigation. Acting on the suspicions raised by the brother, the body was exhumed on December 24 in the presence of the Makloor tahsildar.

A panchanama was conducted and a post-mortem examination was carried out at the Nizamabad Government Hospital.

Investigations revealed that Ramesh’s wife, Pallati Soumya alias Pandula Arun Latha, was allegedly in an illicit relationship with Naleshwar Dileep of Badgun village in Nandipet mandal.

Police said frequent quarrels between the couple over the relationship led Soumya and her lover to conspire to eliminate Ramesh.

According to police, in the third week of December, Soumya, along with her lover and others, executed the plan. While Ramesh was in deep sleep, the accused allegedly strangled him with a towel and smothered him using a pillow, causing death.

They later fled the scene, making it appear like a natural death.

Using technical evidence and sustained investigation, police arrested the prime accused, Pallati Soumya alias Pandula Arun Latha, her lover Naleshwar Dileep, and his brother Yerrolla Abhishek, along with alleged contract killers Bantu Jitender, Sriram and Ramavath Srikant.

The case was solved under the supervision of Nizamabad ACP L. Raja Venkat Reddy, with key efforts by Nizamabad North Rural CI B. Srinivas and Makloor SI M. Rajashekhar.
