IPS Trainee Uday Krishna Reddy Facing Charges Of Sexual Harassment Attempts Suicide In Hyderabad

Hyderabad:Uday Krishna Reddy, the IPS trainee facing allegations of sexual harassment of a colleague at the National Police Academy here, allegedly attempted suicide at his brother’s place in Motinagar, Borabanda, on Monday.
According to the Borabanda police, he was immediately taken by his relatives to a hospital in SR Nagar where he was undergoing treatment. He was stated to be in danger.
Earlier in the day, Krishna Reddy posted on his Instagram handle that the “complaints and propaganda” against him were false He said he had full faith in the law and that justice will prevail.
Doctors said Krishna Reddy was brought to the hospital around 9.30 am, and was unconscious. He was administered a stomach wash. “Everything including BP is normal. It will take another 24 hours for him to regain consciousness,” a doctor said adding that they were awaiting blood reports.
His younger brother Pranay Reddy told the media that he found the trainee police officer unconscious at about 8 am and rushed him to the hospital.
A senior police officer said that a purported suicide note was recovered from the house. The purported note alleged that he was in a relationship with a batchmate for about a year. He also claimed he had video evidence, and that he had informed the complainant’s husband about it.
The police officer disclosed that Krishna Reddy had mentioned four reasons for his alleged suicide attempt, but refused to disclose the contents. The trainee officer said that all evidence was stored in phone. Police have collected the gadget which is being examined by the IT and Forensic Science Laboratory teams.
On Sunday, police had registered a case of alleged sexual harassment, posting obscene videos, staking and blackmailing following a complaint by an IPS trainee, and summoned him to appear before the investigation officer.
