Kavitha’s ‘Devils’ Remark Hits KTR

He was responding to a question about the letter written by his sister and MLC K Kavitha to their father and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and her comments that KCR is surrounded by some "devils".

HYDERABAD: The BRS appears to be sore over party president K. Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha, calling out on how he “is surrounded by devils”, and how these “devils” are causing harm to the party.

That Kavitha’s comments have hit home became clear on Saturday with party working president K.T. Rama Rao, Kavitha’s brother, saying that some things should be discussed within the party fora and not outside. Without mentioning Kavitha’s name, Rama Rao said this condition “applies to everyone in the party,” in a possible indication that Kavitha may have crossed a line.

Rama Rao was answering questions at a press meet on the leaked letter written by Kavitha on Saturday. He, however, refused to be drawn into any elaborate responses on the subject.

To a question on Kavitha’s allegations that there were some covert operations going on in the party to sideline her, Rama Rao sought to deflect it saying there were coverts in every party and there may be some Congress coverts in the BRS. “Who the coverts are will become clear in the days to come. The coverts will expose themselves,” he said.

Some party leaders said though Kavitha may have stepped out of bounds with her ‘KCR is surrounded by devils’ comment, the line she crossed was more likely one drawn on sand. That the devils Kavitha talked about may be in the details became evident with a senior BRS leader saying “it is true that she has been feeling left out, that her contributions to the party have been ignored. We hope that this issue will be sorted out soon but the present situation has been building up over the past few months. Given the extent to which she has gone this time, everyone is in a wait and watch mode.”

At the same event, Rama Rao demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy following his name being mentioned in the ED chargesheet related to the National Herald-Young India case.

Rama Rao alleged that Revanth Reddy “had a long track record of corruption.” “That he is named in the National Herald-Young India case makes it clear why Revanth is obsessed with young India. Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had alleged that Revanth bought the TPCC president post by giving Congress leaders in Delhi `50 crore. The ED chargesheet corroborates those very allegations,”

Revanth Reddy has brought shame upon Telangana, and should immediately quit his post, and if he does not do so, then Rahul Gandhi should ensure he quits, Rama Rao said. The BJP too should say why it is silent on this issue, he said.
