Instant Inflows Continue in SRSP, Nizamsagar Projects

Nizamabad: Floodwaters continued to swell the River Godavari and its tributary Manjeera in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts on Friday.
The Sriram Sagar project and the Nizamsagar project received significant inflows from upstream areas. In view of the flood situation, Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy would visit the Sriram Sagar project on August 1 by helicopter. He would inspect the dam site and hold a review with the officials.
Meanwhile, instant inflows of 62121 cusecs reached SRSP on Friday. The SRSP water level reached 1070.1 feet as against its full reservoir level of 1091.00 ft. The storage capacity also touched 23.494tmc on Thursday night as its gross storage capacity is 80.5tmc.
Instant outflows to the Kakatiya main canal were 300 cusecs and Mission Bhagiratha 231 cusecs and the evaporation was 291 cusecs.
SRSP officials are monitoring the flood situation in Godavari with the irrigation department in neighboring Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the Nizamsagar project received 4530 cusecs of inflows on Friday.
