Inflow To Musi Project Rises; Four More Crest Gates Lifted

With the inflow to the Musi Project rising to 9,972.55 cusecs by 1 pm on Saturday, officials decided to lift another four crest gates later in the evening: Reports

NALGONDA: Due to an increase in inflows to the Musi Project, water was released downstream by lifting five crest gates of the medium irrigation project.

On Saturday evening, four crest gates, Nos. 3, 7, 8, and 10, were lifted three feet, while the height of Gate No. 2, which had already been lifted on Thursday, was raised from two feet to three feet to increase the water release downstream. In total, 9,825 cusecs of water were released through the five lifted crest gates.

With the inflow to the Musi Project rising to 9,972.55 cusecs by 1 pm on Saturday, officials decided to lift another four crest gates later in the evening. The water level in the project reached 643.42 feet, against the full reservoir level of 645 feet. The storage stood at 4.05 TMC ft, compared to the total capacity of 4.46 TMC ft.
