Indian Army Seeks Stronger Defence-Tech Ties With Hyderabad Firms

Hyderabad: In an effort to modernise its capabilities and foster public-private partnerships, the Army is exploring collaborations with Hyderabad-based industries and technology firms, according to an official statement issued after a senior-level visit on Tuesday.
The areas of interest include defence innovation, aerospace, cybersecurity, and opportunities for startups and MSMEs to contribute to national security technologies.
The visit of Lt. Gen. Karanbir Singh Brar, General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Bharat Area, and Maj. Gen. Ajay Misra, General Officer Commanding of Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, to defence and technology companies.
The Army said the visit was intended to “foster synergy” between the military and industry, and to explore how cutting-edge technologies can enhance operational readiness.
The note further mentioned that the General Officers interacted with industry leaders and innovators to discuss potential areas of cooperation. The focus was on leveraging technological advancements for modernisation and on encouraging companies to develop and showcase capabilities relevant to defence.
