Indian Army Joins Rescue Ops at Srisailam Tunnel

The Army officials also conducted a joint meeting with the civil administration, NDRF, SDRF, tunnel construction contractors personnel.

Hyderabad: Indian Army personnel joined the rescue operations at the Srisailam left bank canal tunnel near Domalapenta. A statement said the Army’s Telangana and Andhra Sub Area was coordinating the rescue operations.

The Engineer Task Force (ETF) of the Bison Division from Secunderabad has been deployed. Army medical teams and Engineers equipped with high-capacity pumping sets, armoured hoses, excavators, JCBs, and bulldozers, were working to clear debris and facilitate safe evacuation.

The Army officials also conducted a joint meeting with the civil administration, NDRF, SDRF, tunnel construction contractors personnel. The Army’s priority remains the swift and safe extraction of those trapped inside, a statement said.
