Ilambarithi orders flood control plan for Hakimpet

Hyderabad: GHMC commissioner K. Ilambarithi directed officials to draft a plan to prevent flooding in Hakimpet during heavy rain. On Friday he inspected flood-affected areas. Locals told the commissioner that because of the soil dumped in the HMDA layout, water and slush enter their houses. The commissioner instructed officials to remove the soil.

Engineering officials explained that flood flow from the Banjara lake and Lotus pond flow towards Hakimpet and enters Balkam lake.
