Iconic Bridge To Ease Attapur Traffic

MRDCL will deploy a jack-up barge, tugboat and carriage barge to carry out piling, concreting and other in-lake construction activities.

Hyderabad, July 25: The alignment for the proposed 2.6-km-long Mir Alam Tank Bridge is likely to be finalised this week, officials from the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) said. “The bridge will not pass over the Nehru Zoological Park but will traverse the Mir Alam water body,” said an official from MRDCL.

The Rs 430 crore administrative sanction for the project has already been approved. MRDCL will deploy a jack-up barge, tugboat and carriage barge to carry out piling, concreting and other in-lake construction activities. The bridge will connect the Bengaluru National Highway at Shastripuram to Chintalmet Road.

The stretch currently witnesses peak-hour traffic bottlenecks, especially at Attapur. “Besides reducing travel time and easing congestion, the bridge will enhance the area’s aesthetic appeal,” added the officials.
