I-Day Celebrated Across Adilabad

Students from various government and private schools presented cultural programmes on the occasion, while guests and district collectors distributed certificates to employees and social workers for their best performances.

Adilabad: The 79th Indian Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety in the erstwhile Adilabad district, though rain disrupted the celebrations at some places on Friday.

Students from various government and private schools presented cultural programmes on the occasion, while guests and district collectors distributed certificates to employees and social workers for their best performances.

Mohd Ali Shabbir, adviser to the Telangana State Government for Adilabad district, and Dr Banda Prakash, deputy chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council for Komaram Bheem Asifabad, attended the programmes as chief guests and unfurled the national flag in their respective districts. Later, they addressed the gatherings.

Harkara Venugopal, adviser to the state government, was the chief guest at the Independence Day celebrations in Mancherial, while Sircilla Rajaiah, chairman of the state finance commission, attended the celebrations in Nirmal district. Both unfurled the national flag and spoke on the occasion.

In their speeches, the chief guests outlined the development works and welfare schemes being implemented in their respective districts, emphasising that the state government is committed to the welfare and development of all sections of society.

District collectors Avinash Abhinav (Nirmal), Rajarshi Shah (Adilabad), Venkatesh Dhotre (Komaram Bheem Asifabad), and Kumar Deepak (Mancherial) also attended the events.
