HYDRAA To Demolish Unsafe Hostel Buildings

HYDERABAD: HYDRAA has given hostel operators three months to shift from unsafe buildings to structurally sound premises with required safety permits, before inspections begin on January 1.
Speaking to hostel operators and owners of buildings leased for hostel operations at the office, HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath said there would be no compromise on the safety of hostel residents and warned of action against hostels operating from unsafe buildings, as they would be demolished.
The state agency stepped up vigilance following recent incidents, including the collapse of an under-construction building at Anjaiahnagar in Gachibowli that resulted in two deaths and damage to adjoining structures, and the collapse of a hostel building in Delhi on September 6.
