HYDRAA Protected 1,970 sq. yds Parkland In Medchal
The layout, developed in the year 2000 across 13.31 acres in Survey No.s 873 and 882, consists of 256 plots, in which Plot No.s from 111 to 116 were earmarked as a park.
Hyderabad: HYDRAA said on Saturday that it had removed encroachments from a 1,970-sq. yd parkland in Sai Sri Nilaya Layout at Medchal, and fenced the land to prevent further illegal occupation.
The layout, developed in the year 2000 across 13.31 acres in Survey No.s 873 and 882, consists of 256 plots, in which Plot No.s from 111 to 116 were earmarked as a park. Around 400 sq yds of the land had allegedly been encroached upon, divided into plots and enclosed with precast concrete boundary walls.
Following a complaint from the Sai Sri Nilaya Residency Welfare Society during HYDRAA's Prajavani public grievance redressal programme, officials conducted a field inspection with the concerned departments and confirmed the encroachment.
HYDRAA demolished the illegal boundary walls, identified the park boundaries, installed boards declaring it as park land and erected fencing around the site. Officials estimated the value of the protected land at around `20 crore.
