HYDRAA Holds Remapping Meet with GHMC, HMDA, Revenue Officials

Officials said that layout owners can change the layout only after receiving permission from all plot owners.

Hyderabad:HYDRAA said that it was their responsibility to protect land meant for parks and roads in any layout. The agency officials on Saturday held a meeeing about layout remapping, with GHMC, HMDA, DTCP, irrigation and revenue department officials.

Officials said that layout owners can change the layout only after receiving permission from all plot owners. They said that if 10 per cent of the layout’s plots complete their registration process, the layout has to be identified by the government.

They also stated that 10 per cent of the layout land has to be dedicated to parks and public spaces. Officials added that even if the layout gets its permissions from the panchayat office, local municipal office, DTCP or HMDA, the government would have rights over the layout’s land for parks, roads and public spaces.

Meanwhile, residents of Raidurg's Prashant Hills felicitated HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath for reviving the Kummari Kunta. They said that though a part of the lake was already encroached, 29 guntas were saved after HYDRAA’s actions.

Locals said that they had struggled for the past 30 years to protect the lake, and HYDRAA’s efforts saved government land worth Rs 100 crore and ensured a healthy environment for more than 5,000 residents.
