HYDRAA Defends Kondapur Land Fencing, Says Action Based on Revenue Records
HYDRAA said that around 19 acres in the survey number were fenced to protect the government property
Hyderabad: HYDRAA on Friday said in a statement that the fencing of what it called government land in Survey No. 59 at Kondapur in Serilingampally mandal was carried out at the request of revenue officials, and within the boundaries identified by them.
HYDRAA said that the fencing was undertaken based on information provided by revenue authorities and a High Court judgment, which identified the land in Survey No. 59 as government property. HYDRAA said that around 19 acres in the survey number were fenced to protect the government property.
HYDRAA stated that the fencing was carried out in the presence of the revenue divisional officer (RDO), tahsildar, surveyors and revenue Inspectors with police protection. The agency said the work was limited to the boundaries marked by the revenue officials and that it did not make any independent decisions regarding the land.
HYDRAA also said it removed a temporary shed in Survey No. 59, where plastic waste and garbage were allegedly being dumped, making the surroundings unhygienic. It added that the accumulated plastic waste was also cleared.
According to HYDRAA, petitioner P. Sudha Rani alleged that HYDRAA and revenue officials had demolished the compound wall of her 350-square-yard plot in Survey No. 60.
However, HYDRAA stated that it did not enter Survey No. 60 during the operation. It further said that Sudha Rani had neither approached HYDRAA nor lodged any complaint before or after the removal of encroachments, despite claiming ownership of the plot in Survey No. 60.
HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath also refuted reports about his arrest. Responding to a social media post which said Ranganath would be arrested for a period of one month, Ranganath said “As expected, some of the vested interest groups are actively pushing fake news through their social media handles.”
