Hyderabad: Hydraa has launched a cracked down on the illegal activities that are taking place in the Sunnam Cheruvu area of Madhapur, including encroachment of the lake lands and drawing its groundwater.
Responding to a series of complaint, officials swung into action and removed illegal boreholes, motors, pipelines and sheds within the Sunnam Cheruvu FTL area.
They found that groundwater is being illegally extracted from the lake and is being supplied commercially to IT companies, hotels, private hostels, and educational institutions in Madhapur through tankers. Officials warned of stern action if anyone tries to encroach on lakes.
