HYDRAA Clears 56 Truckloads of Waste From Aghapura Nala

The nala carries floodwater from Mehdipatnam, Vijaynagar Colony, AC Guards, Mallepally and Nampally to the Musi river

Hyderabad: HYDRAA has cleared 56 truckloads of silt and waste after a week of work on the Aghapura nala, restoring the flow of floodwater in the drain that had been heavily choked with debris, including mattresses, pillows, bedsheets, chairs and sofa upholstery. The nala carries floodwater from Mehdipatnam, Vijaynagar Colony, AC Guards, Mallepally and Nampally to the Musi river.

The blockage came to light after images and videos of accumulated waste near the Dar-us-Salam culvert were circulated on social media.

Due to lack of access for heavy machinery, teams manually entered the drain to remove silt and debris. Protective gear, including gloves, gumboots and masks, was provided to workers, though some were seen working without it.

Images of workers without protective equipment raised concerns over their safety conditions.
