HYDRAA, a Tool of Political Intimidation And Extortion : KTR

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao described it as a tight slap on the Revanth Reddy government

Hyderabad: Welcoming the Telangana High Court order for the removal of HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao described it as a tight slap on the Revanth Reddy government. He reiterated his allegation that the authority was a “blackmailing tool” of the CM and accused the state government of using it as an instrument of political intimidation, selective demolitions and extortion rather than lawful governance.

Addressing media persons in Delhi, Rama Rao described HYDRAA as a ‘nine-headed monster’. He said that if the BRS was voted back to power, it would abolish HYDRAA on the very first day, in line with the spirit of the High Court's observations. Calling upon Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to respect the judiciary, Rama Rao said it was ‘shameful’ that he continued to defend HYDRAA despite the High Court's strong observations. "Respect the High Court. Respect democracy. A government that refuses to respect judicial institutions has no moral authority to speak about the rule of law," he said.

Earlier in the day, Rama Rao called on Union railway Ashwini Vaishnaw and submitted detailed representations seeking the establishment of the Kazipet railway division, expeditious completion of key railway projects in Telangana, and enhanced Central support for reviving the state's Tier-2 IT ecosystem.
