Hyderabad: Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu on Monday said the State government's commitment is to make Telangana a state free from huts.
“We are working with sincerity and determination to achieve this goal,” he said while participating in the inauguration of Indiramma Houses (LIG Housing Towers) in the CURE Region of the Secretariat.
During the previous Congress government, the government constructed LIG Housing Towers in several parts of the city to provide affordable housing for the poor and middle-class families. With the same spirit, it is now launching the Indiramma Housing project in the CURE region.
“As part of the Telangana Rising – 2047 Vision, we have set a target of expanding the state's economy to USD 1 trillion by 2034 and USD 3 trillion by 2047. To achieve this vision and ensure balanced, inclusive development, we have divided the state into CURE, PURE, and RARE development regions,” he explained.
“Hyderabad is the focal point of the CURE Vision. Our objective is not only to develop Hyderabad into a global city but also to ensure that the benefits of this growth reach the poor and the middle class living in the city. That is the core idea behind the CURE Vision,” he said.
These LIG Housing Towers being launched under the CURE region are a reflection of that vision. They mark another historic milestone in Hyderabad's urban development. In the coming years, this project will set a new benchmark for the urban housing sector in the country and serve as a model for similar initiatives.
Unlike rural areas, urban regions face severe land constraints for housing development. To overcome this challenge and fulfill the dream of home ownership for poor and middle-class families, we will construct LIG Housing Towers on land worth hundreds of crores of rupees.
“Our government will ensure complete transparency in the selection of beneficiaries and allocation of houses so that only eligible families receive Indiramma Houses,” he added. In accordance with the prescribed guidelines, eligible outsourcing employees, contract workers, and sanitation workers will also be provided with Indiramma Houses, he said.
“I once again reaffirm that our government remains fully committed to fulfilling the promises made to the people before the elections, including the implementation of the six guarantees,” he added.
