Hyderabad: Trio Nabbed for Robbing Gold From Woman

Police recovered the gold intact from the robbers, produced them before the court for judicial remand

Hyderabad: Warasiguda police arrested three robbers who on May 2 barged into the house of a houseowner, tied her to a chair, threatened her at knifepoint and fled with her 3.5 tola gold jewelry in Parsigutta.

The accused Alla Jyothi, a cook from Parsigutta, Yelagari Srikanth, cleaning worker from Musheerabad, and Korrolu Eshwar, electrician from Bansilalpet, posed as people looking for accommodation and approached the victim, 56-year-old Parijatham, who had put up a to-let board. She was alone at that time, east zone DCP Bala Swamy said.

After entering her house purportedly to discuss tenancy arrangements, the trio locked the door from inside, forced Prijatham into the bedroom where they tied her to a chair and looted her gold ornaments, Bala Swamy said. Police recovered the gold intact from the robbers, produced them before the court for judicial remand.
