Hyderabad: Traffic advisory for Sankranti festival

Accordingly, moderate traffic congestion is expected at the Kacheguda and Secunderabad railway stations as well as major bus terminals.

Hyderabad:The Hyderabad traffic police placed motorists on the alert for a heavy flow of vehicles at several places in the city for the Sankranti festival. Police specifically said traffic would beak on January 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13, and return traffic from January 16 till 19.

Accordingly, moderate traffic congestion is expected at the Kacheguda and Secunderabad railway stations as well as major bus terminals. Heavy passenger movement, frequent pick-ups and drop-offs, auto/cab operations, and pedestrian flow could affect regular traffic flow.

The affected areas were MGBS to Aramghar via Afzalgunj, City College, Puranapul, Bahadurpura; MGBS to Dilsukhnagar; SR Nagar to Lakdikapul; Rethibowli to Aramghar via Attapur; and Kacheguda to Ramanthapur

D. Joel Davis, joint commissioner of traffic, said updates would be available on the traffic police Facebook page facebook.com/HYDTP and @HYDP on X (formerly Twitter). Police have also set up a helpline at 9010203626 for travel assistance.

JCP Davis urged motorists to plan their travel in advance and avoid peak hours wherever possible, use alternative routes, follow traffic signage, and cooperate with on-ground traffic personnel. Travellers heading towards railway stations and bus terminals are advised to start early to avoid last-minute delays and use of public transport where possible.
