Hyderabad Temples Observe Tholi Ekadashi with Special Pujas

The temples, including several dedicated to Lord Vishnu, witnessed a large turnout of devotees

Hyderabad: Nearly 100 temples across the city performed special pujas to mark Tholi Ekadashi. Devotees believe that prayers offered on this day are especially powerful and will be fulfilled.

The temples, including several dedicated to Lord Vishnu, witnessed a large turnout of devotees. At major temples, like the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) temple in Jubilee Hills, special rituals began as early as 5 am and continued till 9 pm with nearly 40,000 people visiting for darshan.

Many families celebrated Tholi Ekadashi at home by performing pujas and fasting as per their traditions.

Ganesh, a 30 year old accountant from Borabanda, visited the TTD temple temple along with his wife Vidyarani and daughter Srinidhi. “We come here regularly on Saturdays and Sundays. Today the crowd was heavy, but everything went smoothly,” he said.

Glower vendors also benefited from the large crowd. Jayamma, who has been running a stall near the temple for the past three years, said, “Today is the first day of the Toli Ekadashi rush. It was full of people since morning, and business has been good.”

Temple staff made sure everything was well managed. They arranged proper queues and made good arrangements for darshan, so the large crowd could move smoothly. Many devotees said the experience felt peaceful and satisfying, even though there was a big rush.
