Child murdered by mother, paramour in Siddipet
A woman and her paramour have been booked for murdering her two year old son, allegedly seeing him as a hurdle to their illicit relationship. Police said the woman misled her husband by claiming the child had died of a fits attack. The crime, committed 20 days ago at the woman’s house in Siddipet district, came to light on Saturday after her father lodged a complaint.
Complainant M. Swamy, a cab driver from Teegul in Jagdevpur mandal, had been living in Keesara for work, leaving his wife Jyoti and son Harikrishna at his native place. During this period, Jyoti allegedly developed a relationship with Naveen, who used to frequently visit her.
Police said Naveen persuaded Jyoti to eliminate the child. The duo allegedly beat Harikrishna to death and staged it as a fits attack. Jyoti informed Swamy that the boy had died suddenly, leading him to perform the last rites the same night. Swamy grew suspicious after noticing blood stains at his house. On interrogation, Jyoti confessed to the crime. She has been arrested, while Naveen remains absconding.

Trader loses 2.5 Kg gold in bus theft
Unidentified thieves escaped with a bag containing over 2.5 kg of gold from a trader travelling by private bus from Anantapur to Hyderabad in the early hours of Saturday. Police said the theft occurred near Dhone in Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh. The trader, Motilal, boarded the bus in Anantapur and later noticed his bag missing when the vehicle halted at a roadside dhaba around 12.12 am.
In his complaint, Motilal said the bag was likely stolen by persons posing as passengers when the bus stopped at Dhone. He recalled seeing some individuals crossing the road near Jadcherla in Mahabubnagar district and vanishing into the darkness, raising suspicion. Motilal realised the theft only after the bus had crossed Jadcherla. On being alerted, police rushed to the spot, stopped the bus, thoroughly checked passengers and questioned them about the suspects.
Passengers were shocked to learn that crores worth of gold had been stolen. Police sounded a red alert, formed special teams and began examining CCTV footage to identify and arrest the culprits.
