Hyderabad: SCR Gears Up For Monsoon Safety

These measures are aimed at strengthening safety and reliability of train services during the season, with strong emphasis on vigilance against operational hazards: Reports

HYDERABAD: After the bifurcation of South-Central Railway (SCR), officials of all divisions took part in a meeting to review preparedness for the upcoming monsoon and ensure uninterrupted, safe train operations. Recognising risks posed by overgrown vegetation, officials were instructed to conduct regular inspections, maintain round‑the‑clock surveillance at critical locations and complete pending repair works immediately.

These measures are aimed at strengthening safety and reliability of train services during the season, with strong emphasis on vigilance against operational hazards. Directions were also issued to prevent miscreant activities such as placing loose metallic items or leaving construction materials on tracks and overhead equipment.

SCR general manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava directed teams to cut, trim and notch trees near railway tracks to prevent untoward incidents. He stressed that field supervisors must remain vigilant and resolve issues without delay. The meeting was attended by Satya Prakash, additional general manager, along with principal heads of departments and divisional railway managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded.
