Hyderabad Rains: Avoid Flooded Roads, Traffic Police Issues Travel Advisory

Hyderabad: Heavy rain lashed several parts of north, west and east Hyderabad in the early hours, while steady showers continued in many other areas.

Moderate and continuous rainfall is likely to continue across most parts of the city in the next one hour. Several areas may experience spells of steady showers during the morning hours.

Meanwhile, south Hyderabad is expected to receive light showers.

Hyderabad Traffic Police has advised commuters to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel during intense rainfall.

The traffic police urged motorists to drive slowly, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and avoid waterlogged roads, underpasses and low-lying areas. Commuters have also been advised not to attempt crossing flooded roads when the water level is unclear.

Motorists should follow traffic police instructions, take alternative routes wherever necessary and keep their headlights on during heavy rain and should avoid sudden braking and lane changes.
