Hyderabad Police Heave Sigh of Relief As Friday Prayers Pass Off Peacefully

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police heaved a sigh of relief after Friday afternoon prayers passed off peacefully at Mecca Masjid near the historic Charminar.
In view of the Ganesh idols procession coupled with Friday prayers, the police tightened the security at Charminar and its surroundings to prevent any untoward incidents. The personnel of Rapid Action Force (RPF), Task Force and other wings were deployed in large numbers.
The policemen in civil clothes were also deployed to keep a tab on those moving suspiciously in the vicinity. As a precautionary measure, the shops were also closed at Charminar. Additional forces were deployed near the dais put up to enable leaders address devotees arriving to participate in the centralized procession from Balapur to Tank Bund.
