Hyderabad: Police Gets 12-Day Custody of Movie Piracy Kingpin
Ravi had also confessed that he hacked the satellite link of `Cube Network` and recorded the movies in High Availability-HA file format, the police disclosed.

Hyderabad: Investigators at Central Crime Station (CCS) Cybercrime have got the police custody of iBomma founder and piracy kingpin Ravi Immadi once again for the third time. The police will question him for 12 days on three cases pending against him.
Following Ravi’s confession, the investigators came to know that Ravi had set up a Telegram channel called HID Hub (Human Interface Device Hub) with powerful bluetooth, and USB splitters for uploading the link for pirated movies. He collected between $100 and $300 for the pirated movie, police sources disclosed.
"HID HUB is used to hide or archive channels, folders, marked chats within the Telegram,” a police officer disclosed.
Based on Ravi’s confession, the sources said the police stepped up pressure on Ravi to disclose if he was acting on anybody’s instructions and how much he earned from the piracy and who he shared profits with.
Earlier, the police had taken custody of Ravi twice — for eight days each — and registered five cases against him. A special team from the IT cell, and forensic experts questioned Ravi for six hours on piracy links, money obtained from betting apps, and financial transactions.
Ravi had also confessed that he hacked the satellite link of `Cube Network` and recorded the movies in High Availability-HA file format, the police disclosed.
