Hyderabad Police Arrest Man Absconding Since 2021 in 3 Cases

The police said the case is related to the cheating by a gang of persons, and a person falsely projected as a senior police officer and allegedly cheated innocent people

Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Central Crime Station (CCS) of Hyderabad police commissionerate apprehended an absconding person Konduru Reddy Venkat Raju alias KVP Raju (40) of Rayachoti in Annamayya district for his involvement in two cases in Andhra Pradesh and one in Tukaramgate police station. He was absconding since 2021.

The police said the case is related to the cheating by a gang of persons, and a person falsely projected as a senior police officer, who allegedly induced several victims in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to invest money in non-existent and undisclosed ventures by promising high returns within a short period.

To gain the victims’ confidence, they allegedly offered property documents as security and issued post-dated cheques. On failure to repay the amounts, they allegedly threatened the victims by claiming to be encounter specialists.

In the present case, the accused, acting with common intention, fraudulently induced the complainant to part with Rs.1.20 crore, which was not repaid, thereby causing wrongful loss to the complainant, the police said.
