Hyderabad: On-road stunt riders to face PD Act
Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand said special teams have been deployed to monitor hotspots in seven zones, particularly during late-night hours.

Hyderabad: City police are cracking down on bikers and car drivers performing dangerous stunts on roads, endangering public safety.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand said special teams have been deployed to monitor hotspots in seven zones, particularly during late-night hours.
“If anyone repeatedly performs stunts, putting commuters and pedestrians at risk, we will check their criminal background, and the repeat offenders will be booked under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act,” he warned.
The police have identified over 12 hotspots where CCTV cameras have been installed or restored. Special teams in plain clothes patrol these areas in private vehicles to detect and arrest offenders.
Anand said, “These stunts not only create a nuisance but also endanger lives, including those of the performers themselves. We will not tolerate such offences any longer.”
“Our IT cell operates 24/7, monitoring these hotspots and alerting field teams for immediate action. Strict action will be taken against those caught performing stunts. Their driving licences will be cancelled, and vehicles will be seized. If minors are involved, their parents will also be booked under relevant laws,” Anand explained.
The commissioner urged the public to report such incidents by calling 100 or sending videos to the Hyderabad police via social media. “I assure you, stringent action will be taken against these culprits,” he said.
