Hyderabad: NRI Couple Donates Rs 10 Cr for Cancer Research
The Basavatarakam Hospital plans to establish a new research facility equipped with advanced medical technology. The funds will support research activities, staff recruitment and infrastructure development.

Hyderabad: In a significant contribution to set up an advanced cancer research centre at Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI) in Hyderabad, NRI couple Dr Raghavendra Prasad and Kalyani have pledged a donation of Rs 10 crore. As the first instalment, they handed over a Rs 5-crore cheque to BIACH&RI chairman Nandamuri Balakrishna during an event at the hospital on Wednesday.
The Basavatarakam Hospital plans to establish a new research facility equipped with advanced medical technology. The funds will support research activities, staff recruitment and infrastructure development. In recognition of the donation, the hospital has decided to name the new research centre after Kalyani Prasad. Speaking at the event, BIACH&RI CEO Dr K. Krishnaiah highlighted the hospital’s services and its 25-year journey in cancer care.
