Hyderabad: MBA Graduate Held on Cheating Charges

Hyderabad: The Amberpet police arrested an MBA graduate who used the WhatsApp profile photographs of senior police officers V.C. Sajjanar and V. Nagi Reddy, communicated in ‘official language’ to intimidate people and cheat them.
The accused K. Sudheer, earlier involved in over 10 offences in the tri-commissionerate area, has been arrested on techinical evidence by the Kacheguda crime team, according to east zone DCP B. Balaswamy.
Sudheer, a resident of Jillelaguda completed his MBA from a university in Tamil Nadu. With working as a sales manager with a health insurance firm from 2015 to 2017 he had allegedly cheated innocent people of ₹3 crore.
Man flees with bag containing ₹1 crore
A man fled with a bag containing ₹1 crore from a businessman at the parking lot a five-star hotel in Banjara Hills, police said on Monday. According to the 21-year-old victim Mohammed Shareef, he was asked to bring they money by one Mohd Fahad, who promised to help him invest in online gold purchases.
Once at the parking lot, Fahad allegedly introduced Shareef to one Mohammed Ethesham. Shareef handed over the bag containing the cash at about 10.30 pm, he told the police.
Ethesham said he would go into the hotel to complete the transaction and asked Shareef to wait there. When he did not return even at about 12.30 am, Shareef realised he had been cheated.
Based on the complaint, the Panjagutta police have formed seven teams to track the duo. Police reportedly found Ethesham’s car abandoned in Begumpet. The case is being investigated by Panjagutta DI B. Venkat, under the supervision of north zone DCP Ch Srinivas.
Armed Reserve sub-inspector dies in road accident
Armed Reserve sub-inspector Jaggani Raghupathi, 59, died in a road accident on Monday while on duty near Narapally. Police said he was travelling from Khairatabad towards Singapore Township on his two- wheeler when the vehicle was struck from behind by a tipper lorry.
A witness informed Raghupathi’s family members who lodged a complaint.
Three Arrested in Murder of 45-Year-Old Man
The Rachakonda and Medipally police said they had arrested three persons, including the wife of the deceased, in connection with the murder of a 45-year-old man, V.J. Ashok, logistics manager at a private university and was residing with his family at East Brundavan Colony in Boduppal.
On December 12, Ashok’s wife J. Purnima, who runs a play school at their house, approached the police stating that her husband was found unconscious in the washroom at their house and later declared dead at the Malkajgiri government hospital. The death was reported as a heart attack.
During the investigation, police noticed injuries on the cheek and neck of Ashok. On probing further, police found he had been strangled to death. After collecting technical evidence and examining CCTV footage, police arrested Purnima, along with 22-year-old construction worker Paleti Mahesh, and 22-year-old student Bhukya Sai Kumar alias Sai.
Investigators found that Purnima had developed an illicit relationship with Mahesh. When Ashok began confronting her, the accused allegedly decided to kill him.
According to authorities, on the evening of December 11, after Ashok returned home from work, Mahesh and Sai assaulted him while Purnima held him down.
Police seized have Mahesh’s, three blood-stained chunnis, a blood-stained shirt and inner garment, a broken tooth of Ashok, blood-stained clothes and a two-wheeler belonging to Sai Kumar, and a pendrive containing incriminating photos and videos of the couple.
