Hyderabad: A 26-year-old man reportedly died by suicide on Friday over the fear that his Visa application would be rejected for the second time. As per reports, Rohit Reddy took the drastic step at his home in Tejaswini Nagar in Attapur in the city.
Reports state that Rohit wanted to pursue his higher education in the United States and had been trying to get a visa. His earlier visa application had been rejected, and he was reportedly waiting for the outcome of his second attempt. He is said to have spoken to his parents several times about whether the visa would be approved.
On being informed, Attapur police reached the spot and shifted the body to Osmania Hospital. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
Family members suspect that anxiety over the visa may have driven him to take the extreme step.
