Hyderabad: Hunt On For Man Who Gave Sedated Juice To Many

Dabeerpura police has formed special teams to identify and trace a youth for allegedly distributing sedatives laced juice to 11 shopkeepers who after consuming the juice complained of drowsiness and fell asleep for several hours.

Hyderabad: The Dabeerpura police has formed special teams to identify and trace a youth for allegedly distributing sedatives laced juice to 11 shopkeepers who after consuming the juice complained of drowsiness and fell asleep for several hours.
The youth distributed the sedated juice telling the victims that he was happy and celebrating as he had completed reading a holy book, police said. According to the police the victims went into deep sleep and woke up on Tuesday realising that they were sedated. They lodged a complaint with the police.
“At least 11 shop owners and locals in our locality in Dabeerpura consumed the juice and went into deep sleep. After consulting the doctor, we were informed that the juice was sedated and we are out of danger,” Mohammed Ismial, a shop owner and a resident of Dabeerpura said.
“The incident occurred on Monday night. The police received a complaint the following day. We sent the victims to the hospital and they are out of danger. Our special teams, including IT teams are going through the CCTV camera footages to identify and arrest the culprit for endangering the lives of innocent people,” SHO Dabeerpura D. Nanu Naik said.
“At least 11 shop owners and locals in our locality in Dabeerpura consumed the juice and went into deep sleep. After consulting the doctor, we were informed that the juice was sedated and we are out of danger,” Mohammed Ismial, a shop owner and a resident of Dabeerpura said.
“The incident occurred on Monday night. The police received a complaint the following day. We sent the victims to the hospital and they are out of danger. Our special teams, including IT teams are going through the CCTV camera footages to identify and arrest the culprit for endangering the lives of innocent people,” SHO Dabeerpura D. Nanu Naik said.
“We are also inquiring with our informants to identify the culprit. It is also early to say whether he deliberately added and distributed the sedated juice or others are involved. We are checking with the nearby juice centres to identify and arrest the person. We are sure the man is not a local”, Naik
said.
