Hyderabad Gears Up for Pink Power Run on September 28
The run will feature 10K, 5K and 3K categories across age groups and fitness levels, with Chuangsri and Gravidez joining thousands of participants

Hyderabad: The second edition of the Pink Power Run, Hyderabad’s flagship breast cancer awareness initiative, will be held on September 28 at Necklace Road, with a special focus on encouraging participation from rural women. The announcement was made on Wednesday at a press conference attended by Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri, a breast cancer survivor, and Miss Asia 2025 Krishnah Gravidez.
Sudha Reddy, founder and chairperson of the Sudha Reddy Foundation, said the run aimed to take the message of early detection to every section of society. “Breast cancer awareness is not just a cause, it is a responsibility. We want to reach women from corporate boardrooms to rural villages with the message that early detection saves lives. Last year’s participation from rural women was remarkable and this year the interest has grown manifold,” she said.
Chuangsri, sharing her personal battle, told Deccan Chronicle: “As a survivor, I know the fear and uncertainty this journey brings. I survived because I had access to care and early detection. I want every woman to have the same chance. Awareness and timely action can save lives.”
Miss Asia 2025 Gravidez said the event reflected a purpose beyond appearance. “This is proof that beauty is about empathy and action. I am proud to stand here in this fight,” she said.
Highlighting the medical need, Dr Pragya Chikrapati, breast oncologist at AIG Hospitals, said 70–80 per cent of Indian patients come in advanced stages. “Unlike in the West, women here often neglect their health until it’s too late. Campaigns like Pink Power Run encourage mammograms, screenings and timely check-ups. Early detection truly makes the difference between life and death,” she said.
The run will feature 10K, 5K and 3K categories across age groups and fitness levels, with Chuangsri and Gravidez joining thousands of participants.
