Hyderabad: Fake Hyd IIT Professor Dupes Students Of ₹10 Lakh

NALGONDA: Khammam Cyber Crime police on Friday arrested D. Ravi Kiran, 26, a Hyderabad resident, for allegedly cheating students of a private college in Khammam out of ₹10 lakh by promising training programmes, police said.

Presenting the accused before the media, Cyber Crime DSP Phaninder said Ravi Kiran allegedly introduced himself as a professor of IIT Hyderabad in a WhatsApp group of the college. He shared fake documents and forged Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), claiming he would provide training to students.
Police said he collected ₹10 lakh from students through online transactions as training fees and allegedly cheated them.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested Ravi Kiran in Hyderabad.
