Hyderabad: DGP Calls For Better Use Of Police Tech
The DGP directed officers to fully update TG Cop, CCTNS, SCRB reports, NTR photo databases and case details, including FIRs, arrests, scientific evidence and charge sheets: Reports

HYDERABAD: DGP C.V. Anand on Monday said Telangana Police had fallen behind in some areas due to poor use of available technology and gaps in field-level implementation.
Addressing SHOs and officials through a video conference, he said technology adoption required real-time data updating, accuracy and effective use of existing systems, not merely software development. He noted that implementation of several digital initiatives had reached only about 60 per cent.
The DGP directed officers to fully update TG Cop, CCTNS, SCRB reports, NTR photo databases and case details, including FIRs, arrests, scientific evidence and charge sheets. He also called for greater use of digital forensics, evidence management systems and technology-driven investigation methods.
A dedicated technical team has been set up to monitor implementation, identify gaps and resolve issues. Senior officers Mahesh Bhagwat, V.V. Srinivasa Rao and Swati Lakra attended the review.
