Hyderabad: Churches to Take Part in Annual Run for Jesus Rally

Thousands from the Catholic, Protestant communities join to celebrate the resurrection of Christ

Hyderabad: The annual Run for Jesus rally, held on Holy Saturday — the day before Easter — will take place with participation from both Catholic and Protestant congregations across four states. In Hyderabad, the rally will begin at 6 am on Saturday at St Mary’s Basilica, Secunderabad, proceed via Tank Bund and conclude at St George’s Grammar School, Abids.

Cardinal Poola Anthony, CSI Bishop, and the Telugu Regional Bishops’ Council have urged churches to join the event, which is aimed at publicly celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Founder Paul Devapriyam Pulla said, “Thousands of Christians from various denominations join by walking, running, or riding motorcycles and four-wheelers, waving flags and joyfully proclaiming ‘Christ is risen, indeed Christ is risen!’”

The event will end with a session of praise and worship led by local gospel singers, followed by brief Easter messages from senior pastors.
